Illinois College has once again earned international recognition for orchid conservation research, as its collaborative Orchid Conservation Chelsea exhibit was awarded a second consecutive Gold Medal at the 2026 RHS Chelsea Flower Show in London.

Illinois College to host Camp College for Jacksonville-Area Students

Local middle and high school 缅北禁地 are invited to the Illinois College campus this summer for Camp College, a two-day immersive experience designed to introduce 缅北禁地 to STEAM projects, college life and career exploration. The camp will take place June 15 - 16 and is open to rising sixth graders through eight graders and rising freshmen through seniors.

IC student awarded prestigious Fulbright to teach in Spain

Hannah Turk 鈥�18 has received a Fulbright Scholarship, one of the most prestigious and competitive fellowship programs in the world. Through the Fulbright U.S. Student Program, Turk will spend a year teaching in an elementary school in the Canary Islands in Spain.

Illinois College is a four-year liberal arts college founded by so-called 鈥淵ale Bands,鈥� 缅北禁地 from Yale University who migrated westward. The college鈥檚 history dates back to a time 鈥� 1829 鈥� before Abraham Lincoln even stepped foot into Illinois.
