Launching global careers

Matea Aleksandrovska ’25
For Matea Aleksandrovska ’25, the True Blue Scholarship opened doors that transformed her future.

A first-generation student who grew up in suburban Chicago, Matea found at Illinois College both opportunity and community, thanks to donor generosity.

“From the start, I felt like I belonged at IC because of the support I received,” she reflects. “Without financial assistance, I wouldn’t have had the confidence or resources to succeed.”

With the support of her professors, mentors and two key internships, including one with Compass Logistics that turned into a job offer, Matea discovered her passion for human resources and training development.

Selected to represent her graduating class, Matea offered these words in her Commencement address: “Illinois College meets each student where they are and gives them the resources and confidence to shape who they want to become.”

Donor support turns potential into achievement, helping Ăĺ±±˝űµŘ like Matea step boldly on campus then into the world.
